I’ve feel that society’s disgust with cigarettes will increase more and more until they finally decide to do something that will possibly bring it’s usage and rate of users to an all time low or possibly even diminish the usage of it.

In my opinion, I don’t think “substitutions” make sense nor anything “psychological”.Perhaps some sort of “cure” for nicotine addiction to get rid of the desire for good.

  1. Arabs smoke like crazy. Especially hookah. It’s cultural there. They have a hookah delivery that cost a meager $3 and you can order it to the beach. Muslims don’t drink but they sure pack in the smoke.

    • Soulconnection, with all due respect, don’t you think that not advertising all of the ingredients other than tobacco…which is what I think your grandad was initially smoking is at the very least disingenuous to the public? Ingredients according to the American Lung Association such as,
Acetone – found in nail polish remover
Acetic Acid – an ingredient in hair dye
Ammonia – a common household cleaner
Arsenic – used in rat poison
Benzene – found in rubber cement
Butane – used in lighter fluid
Cadmium – active component in battery acid
Carbon Monoxide – released in car exhaust fumes
      Formaldehyde – embalming fluid
Hexamine – found in barbecue lighter fluid
      Lead – used in batteries
Naphthalene – an ingredient in moth balls
Methanol – a main component in rocket fuel
      Nicotine – used as insecticide
Tar – material for paving roads
Toluene – used to manufacture paint

Don’t you think that if you are outright lied to and that lack of knowledge could lead to serious disease to your self of those who live with you because you were not made aware of the real risk, than don’t you think there there would be some cuplability of behalf of the industry that didn’t post all of the stuff they shoved into these things to addict people so they could make more money in sales without regards to the consequences? The taxes and penalites should at least pay for their health care so “we the people” are not burdened with this yet another extremely taxing bill.

    • Clearly it was me judging the product itself, hence “Society’s disgust with cigarettes “, not the user.

Someone being straight, gay, bisexual, bi-curious, pansexual, omnisexual, or whatever silly category you choose to limit yourself with, it is NOT the same. You can’t “inhale” sex or pollute the environment with sex, that’s just idiotic. You don’t have to pay to have sex, you don’t have to make companies richer having sex.

The act to me is disgusting and selfish, and it doesn’t just effect the user, it effects other people as well.Regardless of who lives how long, it effects other people and the environment against their will. It’s like pedophilia to me, it’s one-sided and it ONLY negatively affects others .The act seems selfish. My dad was a chain smoker, and he was so addicted that if he were to choose between giving his last four dollars to his kid for lunch money to EAT or spending it on a pack of newports to smoke around us, he’d choose the second option.IIt is more than just health! That’s one of the problems.

.Also, have you ever heard “second-hand smoke”?When a person who isn’t directly using the cigarettes, but still has to inhale it?Even IF its not as bad as direct smoking, don’t you think I should have a choice if I want to inhale ash into my lungs? Babies and children suffer.

Anyways, this response wasn’t really for you, but for others who don’t understand why cigarettes are an issue to me.

  2. When I was in college I worked in a drug store and sold cigarettes. Believe it or not, a pack of cigarettes cost 42 cents and a carton cost $4.24. People don’t seem to care how much they have to spend. That is what an addiction does to you.
